Widex – pairing and connecting

Pairing and connecting Widex hearing aids – iPhone, Android and more

Widex hearing aids are designed for seamless connectivity across smartphones, tablets, and accessories. Whether you’re setting them up for the first time or upgrading your phone, pairing your Widex devices correctly ensures the best sound experience and full access to features like streaming and app control.

This guide explains how to pair Widex hearing aids to iPhone and Android, as well as how to manage Bluetooth connection settings effectively.

How to pair Widex hearing aids

Pairing your Widex hearing aids depends on the model and platform. Most newer Widex devices—including the Widex Moment and Widex Moment Sheer series—support direct Bluetooth pairing.

To pair your hearing aids with a smartphone:

  1. Make sure your hearing aids are powered on and within range.

  2. Open the Bluetooth settings on your phone.

  3. Restart the hearing aids by turning them off and back on (or placing them in and out of the charger).

  4. The hearing aids will enter pairing mode for about 3 minutes.

  5. When your phone detects the hearing aids, tap the name of the device to complete the pairing.

After setup, you can fine-tune settings using the Widex Moment app, available for both iOS and Android.

How to pair Widex hearing aids to iPhone

To pair your Widex hearing aids with an iPhone, follow these steps using Apple’s Made for iPhone (MFi) protocol:

  1. On your iPhone, go to Settings > Accessibility > Hearing Devices.

  2. Turn Bluetooth on.

  3. Restart your Widex hearing aids (by turning them off and on or using the charger).

  4. Wait a few seconds until your iPhone detects the hearing aids under “MFi Hearing Devices.”

  5. Tap the device name and confirm pairing.

Once paired, your hearing aids can stream calls, music, and notifications directly from your iPhone. You can also adjust programs and volume through the Widex Moment app for iOS.

How to connect Widex hearing aids to iPhone

If your hearing aids are already paired but not currently connected, follow these steps:

  1. Ensure Bluetooth is turned on in Settings > Bluetooth.

  2. If the hearing aids don’t reconnect automatically, restart them by turning them off and on.

  3. Open the Widex Moment app and confirm connection status.

If the devices still do not connect, remove them from the list of paired devices and go through the pairing process again. Keeping your iPhone updated and ensuring app permissions are enabled can also resolve most issues.

How to connect Widex hearing aids to Android phone

Newer Widex hearing aids support Android Audio Streaming for Hearing Aids (ASHA) on compatible phones. Here’s how to connect:

  1. Open Settings > Bluetooth on your Android phone and turn it on.

  2. Restart your Widex hearing aids.

  3. Wait for the hearing aids to appear under “Available devices,” then select them.

  4. Confirm the connection.

Once connected, you can use the Widex Moment app for Android to adjust sound, switch programs, and monitor battery status.

Note: Direct streaming may not be available on all Android devices. For older phones, streaming can still be enabled using the Widex COM-DEX accessory.

Need help with pairing?

If you experience connection issues, we recommend restarting both the hearing aids and the phone, verifying app settings, or checking compatibility. Your hearing care provider can also assist with in-clinic pairing and accessory setup.
